52 Verses is an experiment in poetry: an attempt to write a unique poem every week for one year. At the end of that year, the project will end (though the blog will, of course, remain live for people to see).
Posts go up by Saturday at 7pm every week. Some weeks, I will post more than one poem—but I will always post at least one.
Over the course of the year, I will be attempting to cover a variety of topics, using a variety of forms. You will see some freeform poems, some tightly constructed original forms, and some traditional forms (sonnets, haiku, etc.).
My goals are twofold: to practice writing poetry and expand my personal voice, and to glorify God with good art. I hope you enjoy the project.
Constructive criticism is not only welcomed, but desired. I want to be a better writer and poet—and the only way that is going to happen is if you, the people reading this blog, push me. So push me.
